Podcast Episode No. 3: Denver Realtor Adrian Kinney, MidCentury Modern Expert

About a month ago, I had the great pleasure to meet Denver area Realtor and Midcentury Modern expert Adrian Kinney. He was just so passionate about modernism, I just loved his enthusiasm on the topic.  In addition to selling Denver area MCM homes, he's organizing a Mid Century Modern week, modeled after the one in Palm Springs.

Speaking of Palm Springs, the Denver area is home to one of the largest collections of Cliff May homes outside of the tony California resort town. Kinney lives in one of them. He's the go-to expert on May in Denver. Tune in to hear this podcast today.

I'll be adding to some podcast extras as I go along, extras only available to MidCentury Modern 24/7 members. You'll get exclusive access to photos, typed letters, blueprints and more that you won't see else where. You'll simply log into the exclusive, members-only Resources on my website.

The MidCentury Modern Show: Episode 1: Realtor Lori Foulke

Talk about an amazing place for a podcast interview. I got to sit in the light-filled dining room part of Foxpoint, Wisc. Realtor Lori Foulke's 1953 one-level home that she shares with her husband Bill Wood.

The couple bought the house, designed by University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana alum, architect Howard E. Schroeder. The couple took a 'Reduce, Reuse and Repair' approach to restoring the house to its original appearance.

What was most helpful was a set of blueprints on the walls on the inside of a front closet. Become a 24/7 member for an exclusive look at blueprints (available soon) to see the details (built-ins and more) on this amazing house. Find the podcast episode on iTunes here. (Released 1/18/19)

MidCentury Modern Weekly: Ebony's 1970s test kitchen, 5 MCM homes on the market in Arizona

Courtesy: New York Times, Lee Bey Photography

Modernism and MidCentury Modern isn't just about houses or even real estate. It's a lifestyle - it touches on just about everything - fashion, design, graphic design, photography and a whole lot more.

  •  The building that housed Ebony is being converted into apartments, but at least the test kitchen has been saved by Landmarks Preservation of Illinois. It can be yours for $1. That's right, one buck
  • What's most clickable? Apparently a photogenic 1953 Highland Park, Ill. house on realtor.com.
  • Holy smokes! Five MidCentury Modern homes will be on the market during the upcoming Modernism week in Arizona. I'm guessing more than a few will be under contract before the big event.
  • A rare opportunity to see inside the famous Wave House in Palm Desert - nickname comes from the roller-coaster shaped roof that was hidden for many years. Check out that unique roof here
  • 1960s era photographer Garry...
